Dear CSC Authors,

Attach the MakeIndex user's guide for indexing your chapters. 
Please follow the instruction as described in the file.  
In addition, I list the subject index of CSA for your reference.

Here is the way to run MakeIndex using Miktex+WinEdt on PC.
After the command "Latex author.tex", select    
Accessories => MakeIndex from the menu bar to produce the index file and then run "Latex author.tex" again.

Subject: Indexing for CSC chapters
Dear Authors,
 
Springer-Verlag has decided to have the same layout as Volume 1 (CSA) for CSC:
1. There will be no keywords for the chapters.
2. They want the indexing to be done by ourselves.
 
If you have not done so please mark all the items you want to index in your chapter 
with the following commands in your next LaTeX submission:

\usepackage{makeidx}
\usepackage{multicol}

\makeindex
 ...
    \index{item to be indexed}
 ...
\printindex

Hank (Dr. Wu) will send you a more complete example in next email.
